You got it. Depending on the spawn, it may take 1 or 2 small groups along with the big one. But you get the right location (I usually just run past the avicara - killable, but annoying), trap and time, then pull. As long as you pull so they all hit the traps at the same time..... Booyah!

It may take a bit to get use to farming critters. griffons are (still farmable outside Destiny's Gorge) the best way to start. Trolls take a bit, still attempting to farm Ettins (only one i killed dropped a purple rune ) The more you attempt it, the easier it will come to you.

The build that i use;

Atty Points: Healing = 11, Tactics = 16 (helm + sup. rune) Axe Mastery = 4 (dont care about weapon points unless im using a sword (only do for griffons))
(still have 1 more 15 atty point quest to do)

Skills: Glads Defence, Cyclone Axe, Bonetti's Defense (when Glads is recharging and mana is low), Vigorous Spirit, Live Vicariously, Mending (you'll see why), Sprint (to get past the avrica since i want trolls, not birds )

Equipment:

Vampiric Battlepick of Warding (gold)
Piercing Dmg 6-28
Dmg +16% (while health is below 50%)
Life Stealing: 3
Health regeneration -1 (thus the reason for Mending )
Armor +5 (vs. elemental attacks) (came with it, will mod it when i find something else to stick on it)
Damage +20% (just cause )

Reinforced Buckler (purple)
Armor: 16 (tactics based)
Received damage -1 while in stance
Armor +6 (vs. Slashing attacks) (for griffons when i farm them)

And full glads armor for the mana pool. Just your normal run-of-the-mill W/Mo farming build. Easy way to get money though.

axe W/r
Glads armor preferred, i think u might be able to use others,
12 axe
11 tac
10 str
8wild

Apply poison
serpents quickness
doylak signet
gladiator's defenses
cyclone axe
bonettis defenses
watch yourself
sprint

i get all the aggro of the trolls then cast serpents quickness -> doylak Sig -> Glads defenses -> apply poison -> cyclone axe -> bonettis def, then keep switching off cyclone axe and bonettis def while adding watch yourself and doylak sig in the mix until glads def recharges. once it does recharge, re apply poison, and cyclone axe, watch yourself cyclone axe, bon def.then kill off the other alive, etc. this build owns, i can do 1 run in about 3-5minutes.
i also prefer to have glads armor for the energy, 2 dif axes (1 vamp, 1 15%in a stance with armor upgrade), and the +45hp - 2 dmg stance crimson carapece shield from that 1 collector. i think u guys should use this for gettin skill points bcuz w/ scroll u get 1 in like 8 minutes, along with selling to get a plat to buy skills, etc. props to whomever i found this build on.

Yup, though you can swap out Watch Yoursefl! for whatever you want.

I farm trolls with my W/N (using all warrior skills though) and i clear most of talus chute, except for the little road to Rankor and the Ice Golems/Tengu. (i kill all of the grawl, trolls, giants, and avicara braves, the braves only if i cna lure them away from the wise)

Trolls are good for experience and wood, but the good drops are minimal and the chests for me always seem to be purple.

Why don't you take out all the Axe skills, put 16 Tactics, add in Riposte/Deadly Riposte, and upgrade Healing to 9 so that Healing Breeze is +7 instead of +6?

O_O

Holy Veil..trolls dont cast curses >.> and you stay alive by blocking attacks with gladators and bonnetis, Live Vicarously is important and gives you a huge health regain whenever you cyclone.

The point of having an axe, is to have adrenaline charge INSTANTLY whenever you pull of a cyclone. You can activate bonnetis on the spot and block 75% of all attacks. riposte/deadly riposte are great skills but are made for swords. 12 Tatics is enough.

Personally i use this attribute setup

Tatics: 12
Healing: 9
Axe Mastery: 11
Rest Into Smiting: 4

Anyone who needs help on seeing how Troll Farming Works you can PM my IGN: Baked Monkey
i'll show you if im not busy in some mission/quest etc.

tip: once u can master troll farming, start charging people and open up a power lvl service! it speeds things up =D

Yep, plus they all charge at you instead of 1 or 2 sitting in the back waiting for 1 to die, which makes it a little more intense, but thats half the fun

Since my normal attacks do 1-2 dmg (+3 with the vamp axe haft), Glads. Defense does the major damage. 37 dmg each time they get blocked. Would be sweet if they had flurry

Lol, ya, low health isn't wise since they can interrupt your cyclone axe and/or V. Spirit. Only rune i have is a Superior Tactics, to counter that I have a Major Vigor. So 446 HP is good enough for me
